This national monument, proclaimed and established by President Herbert Hoover, features one of the world's most natural wonders. Gypsum sand engulfs approximately 275 square miles of desert, and a major portion of this dune field is preserved along with the plants and animals that live here.

Whether you want to take a Full Moon Hike, sled down the large dunes, take a sunset stroll, or enjoy getting crafty and experiencing hands-on learning, this monument has something for everybody!
